Lesley Curtis became inspired by photography after moving to her husband’s native Philadelphia in 2012. As a photographer, she finds inspiration in color, texture, shape, and especially momentary smiles between people. Lesley holds a doctorate in literature from Duke University focused on the history of abolitionist movements in the Caribbean. Today she works as a consultant in Philadelphia, where she founded the communications company Sagely, which focuses on promoting more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace cultures. Her photographs have been featured by the University of Pennsylvania Press, Pathways Magazine, and at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center.
